Very interesting time at camp.
Definitely enjoyable and fun time, having fellowship with one another. Telling of lame jokes, eating of Migoreng and playing basketball were of course the typical activities of the camp.
Then again, when you have a guy like Phil Sammons, a hectic and passionate and inspired and Spirit-led man of God as the speaker, things go crazy.
So really had existing ways of thinking challenged, didn't understand everything but would like to listen to sermons on audio again. Worship was free, as free as it's been personally for a while.
Loved Phil's ideas on the encounter generation and the second generation (and third), the necessity of daily encounters of Him and His reconcilliation for all of us; that Christ has no context without knowledge of sin.
That our souls be either owned by God or owned by something else. Especially loved the notion about being led out by the Spirit of our existing cultures, mindsets, attitudes etc., filled by the Spirit in God's power and authority, then led back in to our culture to reach those we represent. Powerful stuff. Would like to obtain greater Spiritual wisdom and understanding; was very intrigued and inspired by Phil's ideas from Matt 16 about the keys of Kingdom of Heaven.
Overall, completely different feel to this camp than youth camp. A clear message and sign from God that the church needs to be less uptight and more Spirit-led. The amount of healing that took place was amazing too.
