Tuesday. Went with the same crew to visit my grandma's cremated remains at a temple, then went to E-Lek's house to wait around a bit. THEN DRIVING RANGE. Uncle Daniel was pretty good, had a two full sets of clubs. Anyway, was hitting around 175 with a 5iron by the end by my hands got terrible splinters and my arms wrecked the morning after (i.e. my technique was poor). Had dinner at home.

Monday, got up bright and early and went to the suit tailor to get measurements done for a suit and two shirts. (the first of four eventual trips :S). Went with E-Mal, E-Lek, Dad and Mum to a Jap restaurant at Siam Paragon; YUM.

Relocated to central World, walked around a bit and had Swensens ice cream. Guess what? YUM. Such tanky, delicious, affordable icecream in bulk should exist in Sydney too.

Then went to MK for dinner (steam boat). YUM.

So today pretty much comprised of a shopping mall, food tour.

Woke up early to watch the All-Star weekend... pretty disappointing all around. Then Granddad came, right on time at 11am with his traditional boxloads of food which I won't list out. Most the family came to visit, drink beer and gamble. Off and Up took me to Platinum though during the day as we trekked around looking for comical t-shirts and some shorts... which took ages and we didn't really get far. I think we just ate at home. Gambling became really intense lol.

FINALLY. We went off to Thailand, not before getting stopped by a copper on the way to the airport for going in the motorbike lane. And then my dad found out from Nick that he got a redlight camera ticket in Sydney, 324$$$!. The Viet fine was like 10 bucks.

Anyways, flew into Thailand at around lunchtime, spent 30 minutes looking for the car because my auntie has the worst memory, then went home and called up McDelivery and ordered MACCAS. 30 minutes later, I dominated a big mac, a 'Samurai burger', a chicken wrap, 2 chicken strips and more than half of two large fries... and some chicken burger.

Two hours later, the whole family consisting of Dad, I, Mum, Aunties Molly/Leaf/Cathy/Thiranee, Uncles Daniel/Anthony/Suwet and Cousins Off/Up/Moss/Fern/Aon/Earth. Yep that's all of them, plus grandpa who didn't come; we went to dinner at Tawandang, a really cool pub/family dinner/entertainment 'restaurant'. Lots of beer was consumed by the elders; me and the cousins got pretty bored but I definitely enjoyed watching the band. They worked well together.

My life is complete.

After having a pretty solid round of Yum Cha for breakfast, we bused it to the city, walked around a bit, had some smoothies (expensive) AND WENT TO PIZZA HUT.

PIZZA. (yes that's right, food that does not include rice or noodles)

Felt like the greatest thing I've ever eaten. Bus was pretty fun too, not as bad as my last experience on a bus last trip. Oh that was bad.

Just spent the day in transit back to Saigon. Probably drank my 50th coconut of the trip and imitation Cornetto ice cream.

Another day of touring but not so packed as the last. Started off in the morning by going straight off to a beach, about 50kms out of town. Bought a football to kick around and within like 5 minutes, there were about 10 guys in a circle and we started a game. Finally got to do some running though my ankle didn't pull up so well; probably need to get that checked out though I will at no cost miss any games. So yeah, just relaxed on the beach and then left at about 11am. went back to the hotel in the arvo, with the choice to go to "Vinapearl' (like Seaworld) which we dogged and just slept in the hotel lol. Then yeah, walked around that night and had the speciality dish of Nha Trang... lost count of how many I ate. Watched football on tele at night and was bitterly disappointed with Chelsea.

Today was tour around day. Left the hotel at 7.30am after an amazing buffet breakfast. We bused it out of town and then took a boat to Monkey Island. There were monkeys everywhere! The fat king monkey was really fat. You could definitely see everyone respected him. Some other monkeys also robbed the monkey food out of people's pockets. Following this was monkey/dog circus... never seen a monkey ride a bike before, or dogs doing maths. spent time on the private beach and that was nice.
Then we took the boat back and bused it off to the Mud Bath/Mineral Springs. lol this was pretty fun and my skin felt ridiculously smooth after the whole process. the pool was really nice and warm too, like 38 degrees.
After this, we bused it to the iconic temple of the town... really interesting architecture, apparently with a Hindu influence. Great views from the top of the stairs. AND THEN, after that, went to markets and got some souvenirs. That was about it for the day... was really buggered and slept easily that night.

Finally got out of Saigon today! Had to wake up at sometime around 4.30am. So we left the house bright and early and I was stunned to see people on the streets... AT 4.45AM. Talk about early start. Anyway, got on the coach and spent the day on the bus, eventually getting to Nha Trang at about 5.30pm. It was actually quite fun, we took regular breaks and go to check out really nice coastline views. Got to sleep a bit on the bus too.
After arriving, we had dinner at the hotel and then went for a walk. Very buzzing town, much more than Vung Tau... and plenty to see and eat :). Btw, the hotel was mad. I mean, the shower was separate from the toilet...you can't really ask for more.

Chilled the whole day, went out to the city at night and finally did some shopping! got my Chelsea jersey, the most communist singlet you'll ever see, and some souvenirs. Came home and possibly had the worst sleep of my life; coughing grandma, blackout at 1.30am which meant no aircon, 3 colossal mosquito bites at the same time as the blackout which meant I had to use my ipod light to get around the house to ice my bites, a snoring uncle, and a three person conversation at max volume early morning = lol sleep.
